Over 700 participants mostly from Singapore based companies attended the forum   SEDIA's staff with MITI's minister Dato' Sri Mustapha Mohamed

The event was an excellent platform for participants to network with the ministers, senior Malaysian government officials and business leaders who attended the forum. In addition, the forum has established a closer Asean economic integration to generate more business opportunities and inviting fellow businessmen to consider investing in other areas of Malaysia such as Sabah and Sarawak. Malaysia’s Minister of International Trade & Industry, Dato’ Sri Mustapha Mohamed mentioned that ‘collaborations could be forged between small and medium enterprises as well as between multinational corporations and in many sectors such as education, health services and high-end electronics’. On the other hand, one of the viable sectors that Malaysia and Singapore could benefit from is the ‘Cruise Tourism’. As per Singapore’s Minister of Trade and Industry, Mr. Lim Hng Kiang, the cruise business in Europe and the United States was huge and that it should be replicated by both Malaysia and Singapore.

A panel discussion featured in the forum included speakers by Dato’ Sri Mustapha Mohamed, Minister of International Trade & Industry, Malaysia; Mr. Lim Hng Kiang, Minister of Trade and Industry, Singapore; Mr. Tony Chew, Chairman of Singapore Business Federation (SBF); Mr. Oh Chong Ho, Senior Vice President for Corporate Development, Singapore Aerospace Manufacturing Pte Ltd.; , Mr. Robert Yap, Chief Executive Officer of YCH Group Ltd; Datuk Ghazali Yusoff, Malaysia- Singapore Business Council representative and Ms. Lorraine Hahn, a former TV presenter of CNN and CNBC as moderator. -SDCMedia
