In his opening speech delivered by Datuk Seri Panglima Joseph Pairin, Chief Minister of Sabah cum SEDIA Chairman Datuk Seri Panglima Musa Aman said he is pleased that SEDIA is taking another step further in addressing the state’s needs in the human capital development aspect. Of the signing of an MoU between SEDIA and Institute Skill-Tech, he said “I hope this initiative will boost the development of SMEs in Sabah”.
Among the objectives of the seminar is to create awareness to relevant government departments and agencies as well as to local Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) and start-ups on current SDC initiatives, including its SME development programmes. The seminar also provides an update on the various financial assistances and other financial schemes offered or coordinated by the various government agencies to local SMEs and start-ups, while also providing an avenue for these groups to discuss on the issues and challenges faced in promoting entrepreneurship and SME development in Sabah. Additionally, the various groups involved are able to put forward recommendations and implementation plans on how to forward the promotion of entrepreneurship and SME development in Sabah.-SDCMedia |
