Kota Kinabalu (Monday) - The Sabah Economic Development and Investment Authority (SEDIA) was at the forefront of the Borneo International Trade Fair 2011 held at Likas Sports Complex during 10th – 13th November. With the Sabah Development Corridor pavilion among several government agency booths set up close to the entrance, public attention was very favourable as the pavilion saw a steady stream of visitors throughout the operating hours.
A half-day forum was also held on the third day of the event where SEDIA Chief Executive Datuk Dr Mohd Yaakub Hj Johari gave a presentation on the current development of the Sabah Development Corridor and the various investment opportunities under the corridor initiative. Other topics presented during the forum were on the palm oil, tourism and oil & gas industries.

The Borneo International Trade Fair is a multi sector trade and investment exposition held biennially since 2007. Regarded as one of Sabah’s main trade fairs, the highly anticipated event was held for the third time. The trade exhibition event focused on the development of business, trade and investment opportunities both within the State of Sabah and Borneo generally, also involving important regional and international trading partners.
BITF is sanctioned by the Sabah State government and is organised in rotation by the Sabah Bumiputera Chamber of Commerce (SBCC), Sabah United Chinese Chamber of Commerce (SUCCC), and Kadazandusun Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI). The theme for the event this year was Discover Sabah for Business, Culture and Nature.-SDCMedia |
